Tips for scoring better bands in IELTS Speaking Module
With years of teaching English to my students, I have come to understand that English is no more a language to us, rather it is a ghost. Hence, I work upon my pupils’ psychology than to straightway teach the language. You also may have come across the situations where you prepare yourself to the best (for presentations, in offices, in boardrooms, meetings, and so on) however we badly fumble in the finals. To the extent, we prefer to keep mum, as all knowledge and confidence go down the drain. We undervalue ourselves and feel insecure when expressing our opinions and thoughts. In this scenario, how can we score a high band in IELTS? It’s quite stressful at times. Further, the fact remains that till you remove the IELTS score hurdle, your dream destination will remain a dream.
Being a reserved person myself in the past, to an English Trainer, I have mastered the skill. How? I will surely guide you on my time-line. The sure-shot success to speaking English language fluently is monologues/cue cards.
Monologues/Cue cards: Choose any simple topic or pick any cue card. For example
Describe a special gift you gave to someone. You should say
· What is was
· Who you gave it to
· What was the reason for the gift and
· how the person reacted after receiving the gift
Time allotted is 2 minutes
Take notes:
-garment with my niece’s name
-getting married, overwhelmed
Speaking Structure:
-acknowledgement, hook, answer, story, closing
