Day 53 Worksheet: Tenses

Read the stories.  Rewrite the first one in past tense, and the second one in future tense.  Do necessary changes wherever required.

I. Hello!  I am John Smith. I reside in New York. This is my pet dog, Finn. He likes sleeping in the garden, under the mango tree. I play around with my pals.  Often, as we get tired, we rest in the garden.  We lie down on the grass, soak the sun till it is up in the sky. Besides, I play football with them. I never go to park alone.

My father works in an office. He usually comes home late. He likes sitting and reading books in the study room. He sometimes dozes off when he reads. He doesn’t like physical activities like playing football or walking or cycling. On the contrary, my mother is an outdoor person.  By profession, she is a teacher. She teaches Life Skills and she likes her pupils very much. She cooks delicious food for me. I love her so much but she doesn’t let me eat much junk food. Does your mother let you?

II. Junior lives alone in a small house in the forest. He lives more than twenty kilometres from the road. He rarely leaves home, but when he does, he drives a big car. In the winter, he has difficulty driving on slippery roads.

Junior grows his own food in a large garden. He plants carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, and corn. His apple tree provides him plenty of apples.

Junior also hunts deer, rabbits, and turkeys for food. He lives near a small river which provides him with plenty of clean water. It also provides him plenty of fish! Junior loves to fish, and he is pretty good at it.

Junior uses an axe and chops down trees for wood. He then cuts the wood into small pieces which he burns in his stove. He keeps warm in the winter!
