Day 48 Worksheet: Phrases

Phrase– Sentences are made up of words or groups of words (phrases).  Phrases make little sense, yet not complete.

Exercise I. Placement of phrase- put the phrase in the right place.

1. The tourist built a sandcastle in blue shorts.

9. The girl is very polite with blue eyes.

10. The princess made of gold wore a crown.

Exercise II. Match the phrases to make sensible sentences.

1. There’s been a slight mix-upa. but there seems to be some mistake.
2. Please accept our apologiesb. with the reasons for the delay.
3. I’m not at all satisfiedc. over your recent order.
4. I’m sorry to bother youd. for the late arrival of this flight.
5. If you don’t send your engineer todaye. we will be forced to cancel.

Phrases
1. Phrases are groups of words which make a little sense. For instance- in the evening, over the top, on top of it, read it aloud, was very energetic.
